No. Google’s “Terms of Use” don’t allow schools to use personal accounts for school Google Classroom work. Also, in order to automatically enroll you in the correct classes, and to be able to ensure the authenticity of your work, we need to use your Mill Park account. What if Classroom didn’t ask me to sign in? If you were taken straight to a blank Google Classroom page - you are probably already signed in with a personal GMail account. This is not a problem - just click on your user icon in the top right hand corner, and choose “Add Account”. Can I use this on my phone? Yes. but not in class. Downloading the Google Classroom app (on Google Play or the Apple App Store) is free, and it can allow you to be notified when teachers post work. You can also add your account on your phone to access student email, calendar and other Google services. But it is not possible to complete all tasks through the phone app, and you will not usually be permitted to use your phone to access Google Classroom in class. Do I need to bring a laptop (or device) to school? Yes. You will need a laptop or tablet that complies with the BYOD Minimum Device Specifications as found at http://www.millparksc.vic.edu.au/byod/ . As BYOD has been available for a number of years at Mill Park Secondary College, it is now required that each student is bringing a device to access class materials. How do my parents see Google Classroom? Parents are not able to “log in” to Google Classroom, but instead they will be invited to receive regular email updates on the work assigned to you.
