Mill Park Secondary College understands that transition can be a stressful time for both students and parents, and puts in place a number of programs to help make this transition as smooth as possible.
We hold Grade 5 Taster Days with participating local primary schools, as well as visiting many primary schools to run student forums, debating workshops and science programs. We also run a range of events and tours for prospective parents and students, including our annual Showcase Evening in March and Orientation Day in December among others.
If you would like to organize a tour of the school, please see the times available here.
As a dual campus College, we work hard to help all of our Year 9 students have a successful transition from the Middle Years Campus to our Senior Campus at Year 10.
We complete extensive subject selection and careers counselling with our students at Year 9, to help them choose an appropriate senior pathway. We also have Year 9 students visit the Senior Campus on a number of occasions, including at the end of the year for our early commencement program ‘Step Up’.
There is also a great deal of support for parents in this process, with information nights for parents of Year 9 students, and students beginning Year 10.
